State Funding

House Bill 3 provides funding increases for Texas schools to reward teacher excellence, improve equity across all schools, and focus on learning and student outcomes. HB3 encourages all districts to adopt college, career, and military readiness (CCMR) plans. Bonuses and funding support CCMR, Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) completion, and Career and Technical Education (CTE) expansion.

House Bill 5 established the Foundation High School Program as designated graduation requirements for Texas students. In addition to meeting curriculum requirements for the Foundation High School Program, students must complete minimum credits to earn an endorsement in STEM, business and industry, public services, arts and humanities, or multidisciplinary studies.
