Pre-conference courses and informational sessions delivered on-site by Naviance trainers, consultants, support specialists, product managers, and power users will provide you with “how to” learning on all aspects of Naviance and other Hobsons K-12 solutions. You will come away with tips and tricks that you can apply immediately to your day-to-day activity.

#3: The Networking

With attendees representing all corners of the world, the conference is an excellent chance to meet other Naviance users, higher education professionals, Hobsons education partners, and Hobsons staff. This year our Welcome Reception, Educator’s College Fair, networking lunch, and partner exhibits will offer ample opportunities for networking and building professional connections.

#4: The Keynote

This year’s keynote speaker is Darrius Garrett, author, poet, actor, songwriter, motivational speaker & original freedom writer. From his official biography: “In a few short years, Darrius Garrett transitioned from the hood to humanitarian, reaching heights he once could only imagine. As an inner-city youth of Long Beach, Calif., Garrett could easily have become a product of his environment but instead rose to become a pillar of his community. He became a New York Times bestselling author at a young age when he co-wrote The Freedom Writers Diary, which inspired the 2007 movie The Freedom Writers starring Hilary Swank. In the film, Garrett was portrayed as the heart-wrenching character Marcus. He also wrote the song “Change” for the movie’s soundtrack.”

#5: The Reviews

Naviance Summer Institute is a one-of-a-kind conference that will expand your knowledge of Naviance, and ultimately make you, your school, and your students more successful. But don't just take our word for it. Betsy Stangel, college scholarship coordinator at Mount Carmel Academy, shares why she has found the conference to be so valuable.

#6: The Strengths Coaching Café

New this year, we will be hosting the Strengths Coaching Café. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a free strengths coaching session with Gallup experts to discuss their assessment results after taking one of Gallup's premiere assessments – StrengthsQuest. The sharing of strengths will facilitate networking and unique discussions among NSI attendees!

The conference provides the opportunity to gather with your team to set goals and objectives for the upcoming school year. Together you can brainstorm ideas for implementation, optimize your existing deployment, discuss how to tailor best practices to your specific needs, and talk openly about successes and lessons learned.

#8: The Increased Productivity

For three dedicated days of uninterrupted learning, you’ll discover ways to become more efficient and productive in your role. You will learn valuable best practices in pre-conference courses, general sessions, and throughout the conference that you can use and take back to your school or district to share with your peers.

#9: The Inspiration

NSI creates a “buzz” among the Naviance Network that is contagious and excites attendees to go back and make a difference with their students and get off on the right foot at the start of the academic year. Participants are eager to put into practice what they learn and share their experiences and findings with their colleagues to help them drive Naviance adoption and awareness within the school community.
