More than 70,000 students at Pima Community College District in the greater Tucson, Arizona, metropolitan area will have access to Starfish by Hobsons beginning in the fall 2017. The Starfish platform allows academic and career goals to be identified by advisors, faculty, and students and will enhance academic advising to advance student success at one of the nation’s largest Hispanic serving community colleges.
Starfish helps student advisors, counselors, and faculty provide unique support to assess services that best complement each student’s unique set of needs to help them achieve their educational intentions. “Our objective is to be more responsive to our students, to help support them at every point in their educational career, and help them reach their goals,” says Ms. Irene Robles-Lopez, Vice President for Student Development at Pima Community College District.
Starfish technology, used by about 250 colleges and universities, is designed to be intuitive for students, who are able to log in on the go with a mobile phone or from a computer. The platform helps scale student success programs on campus to help to a wider range of students.
