The New School and Hobsons Host Naviance Training for NYC High School Counselors

The First of a Series of Naviance Trainings Hosted by Intersect Higher Ed Clients

NEW YORK CITY, October 22, 2018 - Hobsons, the education technology leader and company behind Naviance and Intersect, is partnering with The New School in New York City to provide supplemental Naviance training. The complimentary training was available to all Naviance clients in the NYC Department of Education. Two separate courses were offered as part of the training.

The first course “Configuring Naviance and Naviance Student,” was lead by Tierney Keller Brown, Naviance Enterprise Consultant. The course focused on two areas: establishing best practices for setting up Naviance for staff users, including importing data and managing user preferences; and expanding student engagement in the platform with links and messages.

The second course, “Naviance Success Planner,” lead by Keller Brown, introduced participants to the Success Planning tools in Naviance. Attendees learned how to: work with students to build tasks, programs and goals; assist students to set and track progress towards goals; and guide school staff members to create tangible, action-oriented and personalized plans that focus students on their future.

“Hobsons is very excited to facilitate events like this one that are designed to help counselors learn about Naviance and from each other,” said Monica Morrell, General Manager of Naviance. “It is a privilege to connect K-12 leaders with higher ed institutions, promoting collaboration for student success. We look forward to future opportunities to host programs that support the common mission across K-12 and higher ed of helping students find the best postsecondary fit after high school.”

Naviance provides information and resources that enable school counselors, teachers, students and parents to engage in meaningful conversations about how to assess a student’s options after high school.
