Starfish by Hobsons to Present at the 2018 NACADA Annual Conference

Leading the Student Success Revolution Beyond the Advising Office

ARLINGTON, VA - September 27, 2018 - Hobsons, the education technology leader and company behind Starfish, will present next week at the 2018 NACADA Annual Conference, hosted by the National Academic Advising Association.

The National Academic Advising Association is an association of professional advisors, counselors, faculty, administrators, and students who work to enhance the educational development of students. NACADA  provides a forum for discussion, debate, and the exchange of ideas pertaining to academic advising through numerous activities and publications, including the NACADA Annual Conference.

Graham Tracey, Senior Director of Starfish Services, will present “Advisors: Lead the Student Success Revolution” at 10:15 - 11:15 a.m. MST on Monday, Oct. 1 in room N132A. The presentation will cover the transition that has taken place since the time that the student success revolution began in advising offices. Today, with increasing scrutiny on retention and graduation rates, equity, and career readiness, the stakes are higher. Now more than ever, advisors need to drive change across campus. Attendees of this session will learn how to lead the student success revolution beyond the advising office.

“The Starfish team is excited to attend the 2018 NACADA Annual Conference and is eager for the opportunity to exchange ideas about the industry’s migration towards a guided pathways approach to student advising,” said Howard Bell, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Starfish. “We also look forward to sharing best practices in student success and advising during our presentation ‘Advisors: Lead the Student Success Revolution.’”

Members of the Starfish team will be in booth #40 throughout the conference. Conference attendees are encouraged to stop by for a demonstration of Starfish’s comprehensive student success platform.

The Starfish Enterprise Success Platform helps more than 450 colleges and universities scale their student success efforts so more students can achieve their academic and life goals. By helping higher education institutions leverage reliable data to pinpoint areas of concern and opportunity within courses and student populations, as well as institutional programs and services, Starfish connects these findings to action by identifying at-risk students, connecting students with valuable resources, and building academic plans to achieve student goals with the least momentum lost.
