Saint Joseph’s University Grows Relationship with Starfish to Include Starfish Analytics
The college will begin working with Starfish in an expanded capacity beginning in the fall of 2019.

ARLINGTON, Va. – October 1, 2019Hobsons, the education technology leader and company behind Starfish, today announced that Saint Joseph’s University has chosen to extend its partnership with Starfish to include the Starfish Analytics platform. Having worked with Starfish since 2018, and with a retention rate close to 90%, Saint Joseph’s University will use the platform’s expanded capabilities to make data driven decisions to better understand and support students at all levels.

“Saint Joseph’s University has been an incredible partner, and their talented team is deeply dedicated to ensuring each student has the resources necessary to succeed,” said Howard Bell, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Starfish. “We are looking forward to continuing to grow our relationship with Saint Joseph’s University and working with them to increase their student retention and on-time graduation rates.”

Since initially launching Starfish on campus, Saint Joseph’s University has streamlined processes for executing academic progress surveys, booking advising appointments, and recommending services and resources to students by using one system to record all student interactions. By adding the Starfish Analytics platform, Saint Joseph’s will now be able to gain deeper insight into the courses and behaviors that foreshadow withdrawals at the undergraduate and graduate levels and use that data to increase student persistence and success at all levels.

“We are excited with the results we’ve seen using the Starfish Enterprise Platform since we first began working with Hobsons one year ago to streamline and enhance our student support systems,” said Kimberly Allen-Stuck, Assistant Vice President of Student Success & Educational Support at Saint Joseph’s University. “With the additional capabilities of Starfish Analytics, we will be able to greatly improve our tracking and communications infrastructure, ensuring best possible support tailored to help each student on their journey through Saint Joseph’s.”

Saint Joseph’s University supports approximately 7,000 students on campus and on-line. Starfish Analytics will be launched this fall to support all students.

Starfish is the most widely adopted student success solutions technology in country, with over 4.5 million active students across 500 institutions and systems. The platform offers an integrated, comprehensive, student-centered success solution for college and university students.
