Over 1.2 Million Best-Fit Connections Facilitated by Intersect in 2017-18 School Year

Intersect by Hobsons Celebrates Successful 2017-18 School Year

PALM DESERT, CA - July 17, 2018 - Hobsons, the education technology leader and company behind Intersect, is pleased to announce that since Intersect’s inception in 2017, Intersect has helped around 800 higher education institutions across the country find their best-fit incoming class. Simultaneously, Intersect solutions are helping over 1.6 million high school seniors annually find their best-fit post-secondary institution.

Throughout the 2017-18 school year, Naviance students have researched their best-fit college options by conducting over 36 million searches using the SuperMatch College Search tool. Additionally, Naviance students viewed over 100 million College Profile pages over the same period.

ActiveMatch, one of the many Intersect solutions, enables higher education institutions to reach and connect with students based on predetermined characteristics and present relevant messaging to specific student populations. This year alone, students reviewed 29 million college opportunities. In addition, ActiveMatch facilitated 1.2 million student-driven connections with colleges.

This past school year, higher education admissions counselors have scheduled almost 200,000 high school visits. This is triple the amount of visits scheduled during the 2016-17 school year prior to Intersect’s acquisition of RepVisits in January 2017. Over 11,000 higher education users and nearly 3,000 high schools utilized RepVisits to schedule admissions counselor visits to high schools in order to provide college information to students.

Intersect also helped over 40,000 high school counselors and college admission counselors connect via the Counselor Community by Hobsons. Helping school counselors and admission counselors better connect and collaborate is critical to supporting students through the college admissions process.
