Increasing Postsecondary Opportunity Awareness through Naviance

ARLINGTON, VA - September 20, 2018 - Hobsons, the education technology leader and company behind Naviance, will present next week at the 2018 NACAC National Conference, hosted by the National Association of College Admissions Counseling.

The National Association of College Admissions Counseling is an organization of nearly 16,000 professionals from around the world dedicated to serving students as they make choices about pursuing postsecondary education. The 3-day conference brings together more than 6,500 secondary and postsecondary college admission counseling professionals to exchange ideas, hear from experts, and learn about the products and services that will enable them to accomplish their goals.

Monica Morrell, General Manager of Naviance and Joel Sackett, Senior Director of Product Management for Naviance, will present “What’s New and Notable with Naviance” at 10:15 - 11:30 a.m. MDT on Friday, Sept. 28 in room 155D. The presentation will cover the significant updates that Naviance by Hobsons has made over the past year to better serve students and schools, as well as to stay on top of the most current trends in college and career readiness. The audience will be given a sneak peek of future Naviance initiatives and priorities. A question-and-answer session will also be included.

“The Naviance team is excited to share our latest product updates at the 2018 NACAC National Conference,” said Monica Morrell, General Manager of Naviance. “The conference aligns with the Naviance mission to provide the best technology and tools to help students find their best-fit postsecondary path. We value the opportunity to connect directly with so many admissions professionals and look forward to engaging in valuable industry conversations.”

Naviance provides information and resources that enable school counselors, teachers, students, and parents to engage in meaningful conversations about how to assess a student’s options after high school. It also allows them to explore, apply to, and enroll in a postsecondary path that is a best fit for the student, based on education and career goals, learning style, and personal preferences regarding where and how they would like to continue their education. The platform arms students and their families with information on the true cost of a particular college, based on their own family income, and allows them to explore scholarship and financial aid opportunities.
