Medina Valley Independent School District Selects Naviance as its Exclusive Platform of College, Career, and Life Readiness

The rapidly growing Texas district will use Naviance to make a major impact on student outcomes

ARLINGTON, VA - July 22, 2019 - Hobsons, the education technology leader and company behind Naviance, announced today that Medina Valley Independent School District (ISD) in Castroville, Texas, has selected Naviance as its exclusive platform of college, career and life readiness (CCLR).

“Naviance is proud to partner with Medina Valley ISD through our comprehensive college, career and life readiness platform,” said Monica Morrell, General Manager of Naviance. “We are confident that the CCLR framework within Naviance will serve the District’s goal of providing and expanding access to college and career planning tools and programming for its diverse and growing student population.

Medina Valley ISD serves approximately 5,500 students and has seen a nearly 10% increase in student population each year for the past several years. Naviance’s CCLR framework, which aligns with statewide Education Accountability Standards (TX HB22), will help the District meet increased need for expanded career and technical education programming.

In addition, the CCLR framework provided by Naviance will serve as a competency-based scope and sequence for counselors and teachers to adequately prepare students at all grade levels for the future.

“Over the past several years we have experienced rapidly increasing enrollments and a growing need to streamline data and workflows,” said Debbie Keller, Director of CTE at Medina Valley ISD. “Partnering with Naviance will enable us to streamline our CCLR curriculum, test prep, and academic course planning, ensuring that we are holistically preparing all students from grades 6-12 for life after high school.”

Naviance is the most widely adopted CCLR platform in the country and continues to grow its footprint in the state of Texas. Currently Naviance is working with 40% of the largest K-12 districts in Texas. Implementation of the platform is currently underway in Medina ISD and students will begin using Naviance in the fall of 2019.
