Hobsons EMEA, the international student recruitment consultancy, are pleased to announce plans to expand their International Student Survey (ISS) 2017 to include European university partners. As part of their growth and insight strategy, Hobsons will start collecting responses for next year’s Survey in January 2017 and are looking for more European Universities to take part. Each year, Hobsons publishes its annual Survey of almost 44,000 prospective international students, which specifically focuses on students in the early decision-making stages before they enroll at an institution.

The 2016 ISS report finds that the old ‘analogue’ approach to international recruitment is no longer fit for purpose. Traditional modes of international student recruitment don’t scale well into new markets and expect prospective students to conform to a narrowly-defined enquiry process. The report advocates a new approach, which involves analysing prospective students to understand their goals, motivations and decision-making, along with using student intelligence and integrated technologies to attract the right students.
