Franklin University Selects Starfish By Hobsons Student Success Platform
Franklin University Chooses Starfish to Increase Student Success and Retention on Campus

ARLINGTON, VA -  June 26, 2018 - Hobsons, the education technology leader, today announced that Franklin University has chosen to partner with Hobson’s Starfish Enterprise Success Platform to support its student success and retention initiatives. Franklin is joining a community of more than 450 higher education institutions that currently use Starfish.

Franklin University, a private, nonprofit university based in Columbus, Ohio, serves adult learners both on campus and online. Through the implementation of the Starfish platform, supported by a Title III federal grant to increase undergraduate persistence, the University will now have the ability to consolidate its support services data to provide more proactive advising for potentially at-risk students.

“We are excited to begin our partnership with Starfish, and are eager to provide more integrated resources to our students,” said Patrick A. Bennett, Vice President of Franklin University’s International Institute of Innovative Instruction, and Global Operations.

“By identifying at-risk students before we observe a problem and providing the appropriate advising and resources, we anticipate that our students will be more likely to persevere to graduation,” said Lynne R. Hull, Dean of Students and Enrollment Management.

Franklin University recognizes that to serve a growing body of students both online and on campus, it is essential to have technology in place that amplifies the efforts of faculty, counselors, advisors, and other student success practitioners.

“We are proud to partner with Franklin University in their effort to provide the best student success and retention solutions to adult learners,” said Howard Bell, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Starfish. “Like Franklin, we believe that ‘student success’ is measured not by degree attainment, but by goal attainment.”

The Starfish Enterprise Success Platform helps hundreds of colleges and universities efficiently scale their student success programs so that more students can achieve their academic and life goals. Hobsons’ Starfish analytics solution helps higher education institutions to identify at-risk students, pinpoint areas of concern, and connect students with valuable services. With Starfish, institutions can leverage reliable, actionable data to assess which services and interventions are working to keep students on track.
