Day three of Hobsons University included engaging sessions led by clients, partners, and Hobsons staff, an informative discussion about Hobsons and Starfish, and our 10-Year Anniversary Celebration at Knibbe Ranch that ended the day on a high note.

Our opening session showcased Hobsons’ acquisition of Starfish Retention Solutions and demonstrated how we are working to help students own their educational experience and supporting their success from start to finish. With Starfish, Hobsons incorporates student success into the whole student lifecycle of admissions & advising. A panel of higher education leaders from Starfish client institutions took the stage to discuss student success strategies on their campuses.

Hobsons partners, including the American Council on Education (ACE) and the University Professional & Continuing Education Association (UPCEA), led sessions regarding their respective research initiatives. Lorelle Espinosa of ACE and Matt Gaertner of Pearson presented findings from ACE’s new report examining how legal challenges to race-conscious admissions are influencing contemporary admissions practices at selective colleges and universities around the country. And, Jim Fong from UPCEA discussed findings from a joint Hobsons and UPCEA study on the effect that post-secondary credentials can have on the adult learner

10-Year Anniversary Celebration At Knibbe Ranch
Ten years marked an important milestone in the history of Hobsons U, and we celebrated at Knibbe Ranch in honor of the special occasion. Knibbe Ranch is one of the few remaining ranches in the state of Texas that has been owned and operated by the same family for more than 100 years. What better place to commemorate the first 10 years of Hobsons University!
