This week in Atlanta, Ga., Achieving the Dream will bring influential practitioners, policymakers, and thought leaders from across the higher education field together for DREAM 2016, Achieving the Dream’s annual student success conference.
Hobsons is a proud partner of Achieving the Dream and sponsor of DREAM 2016. Through our partnership, we work directly with key decision-makers and influencers in higher education to advance our shared goals of accelerating and scaling improvements in student outcomes in community colleges. We look forward to participating in a variety of activities with Achieving the Dream and its members during the conference.
Hobsons will deliver two sessions at this year’s conference. The first, Starfish by Hobsons: Where we have been, where we are, and our DREAMS for the future, is an overview of Starfish by Hobsons, the leading student success solution for empowering community colleges to enhance data-informed advising practices, provide holistic support across a student’s entire success network, and keep students on the right pathway for completing college. Evan Baum, Ph.D. and director of student success and advising at Hobsons, will highlight where Starfish is now, discuss what lies ahead, and share success stories from the community of Starfish institutions. Tuesday, February 23, 1:15 p.m. – 1:45 p.m., Exhibit Hall Classroom A
Accelerating Student Success
Student success well done is a cross-campus initiative that helps break down campus silos while placing the student at the center of the planning process. In our second session, Accelerating Student Success: Focusing on Meaningful, Measurable Change, Baum, along with Stacy Holliday, Ed.D. and associate dean at Davidson County Community College, will share stories from institutions that have evolved their campuses to put students and student outcomes at the center of their efforts. The session is designed for campus leaders looking to accelerate student-centric changes at their institutions. Wednesday, February 24, 3:15 p.m. - 4:30 p.m., Embassy B, International Tower
Introduction of Hobsons and PAR Framework
Institutions often struggle to provide meaningful, holistic support to help students reach their educational goals and they lack the insight needed to determine what’s working and what’s not. Hobsons recently acquired the Predictive Analytics Reporting (PAR) Framework, creating a unique opportunity for us to help scale the work of delivering actionable intelligence and interventions that keep students engaged and progressing toward graduation while improving the ability of institutions to measure the effectiveness of their student success initiatives. Hobsons will be present in the DREAM Exhibit Hall (Booth #203) and would love to discuss how the addition of PAR advances our mission of helping students make informed decisions about their education and supporting student success in tangible ways.
Hobsons’ partners are an integral part of our mission to empower students to connect learning to life across the student lifecycle. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with Achieving the Dream and to participate in DREAM 2016. If you’re attending the conference, please stop by the Hobsons booth #203. We’d love to connect with you!
