At Hobsons, our goal is to ensure that all students have opportunities to connect learning and life in a meaningful way. That’s why our Cincinnati office is proud to support Adopt A Class, an area non-profit group mentoring program designed to facilitate personal, sustained connections between businesses and civic groups, and students enrolled pre-kindergarten through 8th grades.

Through the Adopt A Class program, our Cincinnati office has teamed up with an elementary school classroom to provide mentorship and friendship to students through various activities during the year. Each spring, Hobsons hosts these students onsite for a day of learning and celebration. Students conduct a tour of our office, meet company leaders, participate in educational activities, and job shadow employees in various areas of the business.

In addition, our goal for this visit is to ensure that students learn about different career opportunities and are introduced to higher education institutions across the United States. Last year, many colleges and universities donated campus swag items to be given to the students during the event, including water bottles, pens, notebooks, t-shirts, pencils, string bags, stickers, and other university promotional and recruitment materials. The Hobsons team also designed a map for students that identified each university location and information about the institution. Not only were the students able to use these items at home and school, but they were also exposed to a variety of great higher education institutions.

Hobsons would like to continue this tradition of generating excitement around the world of higher education at this year’s event on May 22, 2015. If your institution is interested in getting involved, please contact Kris Grigsby for more information on how you can help.
