As people have come to understand the essential role that technology plays in supporting student success, the more we all appreciate the role that the EDUCAUSE annual conference plays as an important gathering place for higher education decision-makers in the US and beyond.
The Hobsons team is heading to Philadelphia to participate in EDUCAUSE 2017 as presenters, panelists, contributors, exhibitors and fans of our many institutional partners who will be there.
We are super excited to show off our integrated Starfish Enterprise Success Platform and PAR (Predictive Analytic Reporting) Framework. It’s been almost two years of working to figure out how to take these two best of breed platforms and turn them into a single enterprise-strength solution.
At Hobsons, we know that IT leaders are a key component of helping their institutions to embrace technology to achieve student success goals. The real key to student success is using a proven strategy, supported by analytics, to help you take action toward helping your students. At EDUCAUSE 2017, we want to share how we can help your institution’s leadership make sense of their data, provide informed guidance that is right for you, and deliver comprehensive tools so your people can make a difference.
I am personally looking forward to chairing a panel on Wednesday with colleagues I’ve been working with this past year on an emerging construct/discipline known as learning engineering. The session, entitled Engineering Better Learning, is an extension of ideas from a summit hosted at Harvard University this past June, in which researchers were invited to present papers on ideas about what we as scholars and practitioners think we need in the future to work with emerging data and tech systems in the service of improved student success and institutional effectiveness. I’m sure it will be a spirited discussion with Drs. Henry Leitner, Harvard University; Candace Thille, Stanford University and Phil Long, University of Texas-Austin.
In addition, you can “geek out” with our student success product team at our Breakout Session, Under the Hood: This is What Product Integration Looks Like, on Friday. Our product team is excited to have the opportunity to meet with campus IT professionals for a bit of higher ed “Car Talk.”
The EDUCAUSE annual conference convenes the best thinking in higher education IT, and we look forward to discussing education technology trends, ideas, and opportunities in higher education with you.
