Course Planning with Fort Smith Public Schools

In a recent blog post, we shared that 21 schools in 13 states are participating in early access to the new Course Planner, which launched on December 16, 2019. The participating schools have played an integral part in ensuring that proper implementation and training materials were available for all clients when the new Course Planner is launched.

One of the schools we had the privilege to work with was Fort Smith Public Schools in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Fort Smith Public Schools has a strategic plan they call Vision 2023 which includes goals related to college, career and life readiness for all their students that the district must meet by 2023.

We were able to sit down with Stephanie Freeman, the Career Development Facilitator at Fort Smith Public Schools. Stephanie shares with us that one of the goals of Vision 2023 is that all students have a skill and a plan when they leave high school. Fort Smith Public Schools is leveraging the new Course Planner to help meet this goal; supporting students in academic four-year planning that aligns their coursework to careers they are interested in.

A huge “thank you” to all the team at Fort Smith for their hard work and dedication to ensuring all students have a skill and a plan when they graduate high school!
