-          Shared experiences

The most helpful part about Hobsons University is meeting other people who have similar roles at their institutions. Often there is only one person at your institution doing your job – this is a great place to meet others who have similar responsibilities. HU provides an opportunity to learn new methods and ideas to better utilize the system.  The ability to share ideas, processes, and challenges makes all of us stronger.

-          Expand your network

Clients are open to sharing ideas with each other to improve usage of all the products. Everyone is really willing to help each other – it will truly benefit anyone. Don’t be afraid to strike up a conversation with people sitting near you to create your own user community. Many clients rely on relationships built at HU throughout the year to address new challenges or opportunities with their Hobsons solution.

-          Competition doesn’t exist

While recruiting students is a competitive business, at Hobsons U clients are extremely willing to share advice, suggestions, and even data scripts with each other. This happens not just in the client-led presentations but throughout the conference – during networking breakfasts, coffee breaks or even in the hotel lounge.

If this is your first Hobsons U, here is some advice right from Tonia’s mouth: “Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. Ask plenty of questions, trust me, you definitely aren’t the only one with questions, so ask anything. Also, don’t be afraid to share your successes and your failures.”
