Although everyone understands that student data should be treated with care, developing and implementing an ethical approach to data use requires more than just good intentions. This session explores some common concerns – and ways to mitigate those concerns – that face today’s data-driven higher education institutions.

2:00 - 3:30pm: Workshop: Measuring Student Success Interventions
Graham Tracey, Senior Director, Student Success Services, Hobsons

Why is it important to measure your student success work? What is involved in embarking on a data-gathering project? This workshop will review some of the principles of experimental design and explore structural elements to put in place to effectively measure your interventions, as well as provides specific action items to consider for use at your campus.

3:45 - 4:30pm: Workshop: Three Steps to Prepare Students for Success in Career and Life
Michael Simpson, CEO, PAIRIN

This session showcases real-world examples of how Starfish-integrated tools can help students accurately map to careers, recommend certificate and degree programs, and focus soft skills development.
