Todd Gibby is president of Hobsons’ higher education division, with a focus on supporting student success and enabling institutional client-partners to achieve their strategic goals. Todd joined Hobsons in December 2011 through the acquisition of Intelliworks, where he was CEO.

Previously, Todd held numerous executive leadership positions at Blackboard, playing an instrumental role in the company’s evolution from an early-stage start-up to the recognised global leader in e-Learning software.

Todd’s thought leadership, client advocacy, and track record are highly respected in the education technology community. He is a frequent speaker at education industry events and serves on the Advisory Board for the University Professional Continuing Education Association (UPCEA). As described in a recent Ovum brief, “his more comprehensive view of the student experience, not just admissions or alumni affairs/development, is a strong asset in his role at Hobsons.”

Todd subscribes to John Dewey’s quote that “education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.” This belief was instilled by a number of outstanding early teachers, coaches, and managers who have greatly influenced his life. Todd strives to play a similar role by actively mentoring young professionals as they mature into seasoned team members.

Outside of Hobsons, Todd and his wife support the JDRF as part of their quest to find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes, which affects the lives of both of their children. They love the outdoors and enjoy frequent family outings, ideally accompanied by their faithful dog, Dixie. Todd is a triathlete who likes to unwind with a brisk swim, ride, and run.

Todd holds a bachelors of arts from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
