Training Specialist (Arlington, VA; Cincinnati, OH; or Remote)
Job Summary
The Training Specialist leads professional development opportunities that focus on helping Naviance Network members (typically schools and school districts) effectively implement Naviance Succeed (our K12 solution) and associated best practices. Courses will be in the form of classroom-based or web-based sessions delivered in a public setting or privately at a member’s location. Participants in the training courses can be all levels of members within the school system including, but not limited to teachers, school administrators, counselors, advisors, office staff, and registrars. When the Training Specialist is not delivering courses, he or she may be involved in curriculum design including the development and/or review of course manuals and supporting documentation.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Teach courses in a classroom setting either at a public training center or privately at a member’s location
- Teach courses remotely via the Internet (using WebEx or other technology) to participants
- Ensure training environment is properly configured and set-up for all onsite and remote course deliveries
- Collaborate with Services Coordinator on the scheduling of and work with members to confirm delivery of such courses
- Communicate and knowledge sharing with others in Professional Services on course instruction, course content and troubleshooting
- Provide post-course documentation, including course summaries and course evaluations
- Follow-up on participants’ questions from delivered courses and if necessary interface with Member Services to address outstanding questions
- Identify services and/or product leads for Territory Sales Managers and District Sales Managers and record those leads in the company’s customer relationship management system (currently Salesforce.com)
- Provide feedback on course materials to curriculum designers and assist with quality assurance of courseware
- Earn certification to teach new courseware to enhance teaching ability
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Excellent classroom management and organizational skills
- Flexibility in scheduling and eagerness to meet schools’ demand for scheduling training
- Ambition, drive and ability to learn quickly and adapt to change
- Experience with Naviance Success a plus
- Completion of Hobsons’ new hire training upon hire
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; 3.0+ GPA preferred
- 1-2 years of experience as a Trainer, teacher or Instructor with a proven record of high course evaluations
- Ability to document identity and employment eligibility
Working Conditions
Expectations are the Training Specialist teaches 80% of the time. When teaching, work conditions will either be typical classroom setting or conference room setting for remote sessions. When not teaching, typical office work conditions apply.
Travel
Moderate to Significant (40-50%)
