Arlington, VA and Brookline, MA – Student success requires a holistic approach to college and career planning – tying both academic rigor and extracurricular experience to post-secondary goals. To increase student exposure to enrichment programs outside of academics, Hobsons has partnered with TeenLife, to provide listings including summer programs, community service, and gap year programs through Naviance.
“Increasingly, schools are encouraging students to seek out service and enrichment opportunities to round out their education. These programs can help students learn more about themselves while building a base of experience that can be beneficial in further education and in a career," said Stephen M. Smith
There is a wide array of experiential learning opportunities available to students. However, few teens, educators and families have the time to keep up with these options, and determine which ones are best suited to their needs and interests. Naviance customers will benefit from this integration with TeenLife through continual updates to their database – comprised of thousands of listings – with new information found online, via newsletters, and through live events. Additionally, Naviance customers will be able to augment this data by adding their own information collected from outside sources.
“Partnering with Hobsons allows us to help more students find the enrichment program that matches their interests,” said Marie Schwartz, president and founder of TeenLife. “Integrating TeenLife into the Naviance platform introduces nearly 5 million users at 5,500 schools to the variety of options available to them.”
