TOEFL® Search Service helps International Student sector recovery

August 29, 2012

Australian education institutions will now find it easier to connect with potential students from around the world, with the help of a new online tool from Educational Testing Service (ETS) and Hobsons.

The new TOEFL® Search Service will allow universities and VET providers to search a rapidly expanding worldwide database, already populated with details of more than 350,000 potential international students.

ETS, the creator of the TOEFL® test, and Hobsons, the leader in recruitment, communication, and student success solutions for colleges and universities, have created this online tool to allow institutions to look for students across more than 26 criteria, including desired field of study, country of origin and TOEFL scores.

“Speaking with numerous institutions, we found a clear need for a user-friendly tool that connected higher educators with international students who are considering studying in Australia,” said David Hunt, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the ETS Global Division. “The TOEFL Search Service is a valuable and cost-effective recruitment tool that will help admissions officers reach students looking for particular courses or locations.”

“In an increasingly competitive market, admissions and enrollment professionals need to reach and connect with students who are a good fit for their institutions,” commented Craig Heldman, Chief Executive Officer, Hobsons. “The TOEFL Search Service will help admissions officers find and engage prospective international students with the    English-language skills required, creating mutually beneficial connections that ultimately maximize student success.”F
