New course finder website simplifies tertiary decisions

March 18, 2013

In a market flooded with tertiary courses and institutions that have become increasingly accessible to the masses, more Australians are weighing up more tertiary education options than ever before.

In response to the burgeoning demand for reliable tertiary information, Hobsons has unveiled the Hobsons Course Finder website, HobsonsCourseFinder.com.au, which allows students to explore and compare their many options to find the course and institution that is right for them.

Produced by the makers of The Good Universities Guide series, Hobsons Course Finder features the same five-star university performance ratings that appear in the guides, which provide prospective students with an independent summary of each institution’s performance.

The new website also features course and institution search tools, a career search function, scholarship listings and key facts on each field of study, as well as essential information about entering tertiary education, such as how to choose a course, how to get in and how to cope with student life.

According to the general manager of Hobsons’ publishing department, Davorin Vrdoljak, the website aims to provide prospective students, parents and career advisers with all the information they need in one place.

“With so much choice out there, it’s becoming increasingly difficult and stressful for prospective students to make their decision. Our goal with Hobsons Course Finder was to create a one-stop shop that makes life easier and cuts out the guesswork,” Mr Vrdoljak said.

Mr Vrdoljak said that another key highlight of the website is that it provides information for prospective university students as well as those considering TAFE institutes and private providers, including courses from both the VET and higher education sectors.

“We wanted to go beyond the MyUniversity website to create a complete guide to tertiary education that covers universities, TAFE institutes and the growing private sector,” he said.

“We also aimed to make the site accessible to prospective students of all ages, from school leavers to professional postgraduates and those who haven’t studied in years.”

Hobsons Course Finder website goes live today and can be found at HobsonsCourseFinder.com.au.
