Senior PHP Application Developer (Sydney, Australia)
We are seeking a highly motivated individual for the full-time position of Senior Application Developer to join our Enterprise Solutions team.
The Role
The Senior Application Developer, based in our Sydney office, works in a growing team creating and supporting web application software for Hobsons Kindergarten to Year 12 Student Learning and Academic Management Systems.
In this role you will be the lead developer on a new project. Working with other members of the software development team as needed you will be developing a product with an innovative new approach to learning in K-12 schools. We truly believe this product will change the lives of many teachers and students.
As a senior member of the team you will be required to contribute to both to the architectural direction and development of our software.
Above all, you will need to be an ambitious, creative and enthusiastic team player, with a passion for high personal standards of coding, the ability and willingness to learn quickly, and to complete tasks on time in keeping with customer requirements.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate the following:
• 5+ years commercial large-scale web application development
• Extensive PHP5 and JavaScript knowledge
• Extensive SQL knowledge
• Sound database design and normalization
• Structured Object Oriented application development
• Experience in mentoring other developers
Additional Desirable Skills
• ExtJs and jQuery knowledge
• Solid RDBMS experience
• Basic Linux knowledge
• SDLC knowledge
• Strong OOO skills across a range of languages
• A Degree in IT or Computing Science
• Expertise and/or domain knowledge in the school K-12 space
