PHP Application Developer (Sydney, Australia)
We are seeking a highly motivated individual for the full-time position of Application Developer to join our Enterprise Solutions team.
The Role
The Application Developer, based in our Sydney office, works in a growing team supporting and expanding web application software for Hobsons Kindergarten to Year 12 Student Learning and Academic Management Systems.
In this role you will be the member of a team continuing to develop our flagship K-12 product, Edumate. Working with other members of the software development team you will be developing and supporting a rich suite of tools to help support K-12 schools and students.
In this role you will be encouraged to contribute to the architectural direction and development of our software.
Above all, you will need to be an ambitious, creative and enthusiastic team player, with a passion for high personal standards of coding, the ability and willingness to learn quickly, and to complete tasks on time in keeping with customer requirements.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate the following:
• 3+ years of web application development
• Sound PHP5 and JavaScript knowledge
• SQL knowledge
• Database design and normalization knowledge
• Structured Object Oriented application development
Additional Desirable Skills
• ExtJs and jQuery knowledge
• Solid RDBMS experience
• Basic Linux knowledge
• SDLC knowledge
• Strong OOO skills across a range of languages
• A Degree in IT or Computing Science
• Expertise and/or domain knowledge in the school K-12 space
