Junior Test Analyst (Australia)
To continue our leadership and growth in the education space, Hobsons has an exciting opportunity in our Enterprise Solutions department. This outgoing, proactive, and energetic Junior Test Analyst will contribute to the team by ensuring that our solutions are of superlative quality before they are released to our valued customers.
YOUR NEW ROLE:
• Development and implementation of a comprehensive Quality Program for Hobsons web enabled software products
• To minimise or eliminate defects / bugs released into production systems using thorough testing procedures
• To manage, with Software Development Manager, the process of Change Management and defect / bug fixing
• To contribute to project analysis and design
• To become a subject matter expert in the functions and features of Hobsons software products
Primary Functions: (in order of importance)
• Proactively liaise with business, project and client teams to identify test requirements
• To develop, implement and conduct a comprehensive Quality Program for all web enabled software products
• Creation of comprehensive Test Plans by writing test cases and maintaining test scripts according to business specifications or verbal communications
• To minimise or eliminate errors or bugs released into production systems
• Conduct System, Regression and Sanity testing
• Work with the Software Development Manager on the defect resolution process used to track defects, improvements and the release cycle
• Specification and co-ordination of testing environments and test data
• To manage the release of software, fixes and patches across all systems including testing and production instances
• Develop and implement an automated regression test suite
• Maintain well organised records of test results to generate historical analysis
• Assist clients with UAT (User Acceptance testing) as required
• To produce training materials
• Provide support and carry out other tasks as agreed with the Software Development Manager
Personal Requirements to Meet Position Objectives:
• Understanding of Software Testing process and terminology
• Documentation creation and management skills
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Problem solving and analytical skills
• Exposure to Rational Test Suite, Lean Kit and JIRA
• Understanding of Agile
• Pro-active and manage day-to-day tasks and issues with a positive and flexible approach
• Ability to prioritise and control workload
• Experience working in small teams with or without supervision
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of the Education sector and processes
