Universities Continue to Select Hobsons' Enrollment Management Technology to Increase Student Engagement and Retention Rates
Mars Hill College uses Retain CRM tool to bolster academic advising program
CINCINNATI, May 4, 2010—Hobsons, the leader in Enrollment Management Technology (EMT) software, today announced that Mars Hill College selected the company’s Retain CRM retention technology to help advance its student success and retention goals. According to education consulting firm Noel‐Levitz, it takes four times the resources to recruit students than it does to retain them. Given this statistic, Mars Hill is working with Hobsons to increase identification of at‐risk students and strengthen communication with all students throughout their college careers.
An Eduventures higher education survey on leadership, innovation, and technology reports that more than 90 percent of college presidents and chief officers consider improved retention rates a key strategic objective. Hobsons’ Retain CRM helps campuses increase retention rates by identifying those students most at risk for dropping out through integrated predictive modeling, faculty and staff surveys, and data analysis. Hobsons’ retention tools and implementation services provide schools with the comprehensive, automated communication plans they need to intervene with these students, which ultimately increases student satisfaction and decreases their time to graduation. Additionally, robust reporting and analytic tools provide key data that enables administrators to make proactive decisions pertaining to student success.
Mars Hill College, a liberal arts institution in western North Carolina, strives to empower its students with the skills and knowledge for service and leadership within their chosen vocations. Already successfully employing Hobsons’ Connect CRM technology to build personal relationships with students before and during enrollment, Mars Hill selected Hobsons’ Retention solution to maintain this individual communication with students throughout their college careers. The college joins more than sixty U.S. colleges and universities using Hobsons’ Retain CRM to reach their student retention goals.
“When we decided to expand our CRM program to manage the entire lifecycle of our students, Hobsons’ technology was the clear solution,” said Bob McLendon, VP of Administration, Mars Hill College. “The technology itself is robust and easy to use, and the Hobsons team provides the day-to-day attention and support we need to ensure the implementation and deployment goes smoothly.”
“Identifying the retention problem is the first step, but getting a process off the ground to actually improve retention rates can prove quite challenging for many universities,” said Sasha Peterson, president, Hobsons EMT. “With Hobsons’ retention tools and implementation services, schools can share information, collaborate among various university departments, and provide a consolidated resource to effectively manage student success.”
