Training Specialist (Arlington, VA; Cincinnati, OH; or Remote)

The Training Specialist is responsible for delivering engaging learning experiences that focus on helping clients (typically schools and school districts) effectively implement Naviance and other Hobsons K-12 solutions.
We are currently hiring a Training Specialist to work in one of the following locations:
- Arlington, VA
- Cincinnati, OH
- Remote (Denver, CO or Houston, TX)
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Deliver interactive, hands-on training courses (in-person and web-based) to various user communities such as (but not limited to) counselors, teachers, registrars, and school and district administrators
- Collaborate with internal and client stakeholders to develop custom training sessions based on needs analysis
- Complete all pre- and post-delivery activities including pre-training client calls, course summaries, lead generation activities, and expense reports
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned content areas
- Verify accuracy of product documentation and courseware for assigned content areas
- Contribute feedback to evaluate and improve training offerings on an ongoing basis
- Create training videos and eLearning modules
- Complete internal product and courseware certification programs annually
- Participate in special projects as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; 3.0+ GPA preferred
- Completion of Hobsons K-12 new hire training program upon hire is required
- 2+ years experience in training and development including curriculum design and development and classroom instruction on web-based applications is required
- Prefer candidates who are accustomed to spending 80% of their time delivering training. When training, work conditions will either be typical classroom setting or conference room setting for online sessions. When not teaching, typical office work conditions apply.
- Willingness to travel 50-60% of the time, onsite to client locations is preferred
- Prefer candidates who have the following skills:
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Excellent classroom management and organizational skills
- Ambition, drive and ability to learn quickly and adapt to change
- Ability to address diverse needs and skill sets within learner populations
- Practical understanding of instructional design models, i.e. ADDIE
- Proven ability to effectively analyze and learn new systems and products
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook), Captivate, and Screenflow
Ability to document identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of original appointment as a condition of employment in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act requirements.
