Product Manager (Arlington, VA)

Job Summary

Experienced Product Manager with a track record for driving new product capabilities from initial concept to successful delivery and market adoption.

The Product Manager will work with customers, user researchers, our technology team and teams from partner firms and organizations to drive product innovation that creates sustained competitive advantage and growth. The ideal candidate will can blend a passion for the transformative power of education with a vision for the role of technology in enhancing student potential.

We are currently hiring a Product Manager to work in our Arlington, VA office.

 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Responsible for market needs analysis and product vision and strategy
  • Contributes to roadmap creation by developing product ideas and presenting business case for investment
  • Develop product requirements and determine project scope
  • Engage closely with customers throughout the product lifecycle
  • Own and drive feature delivery end-to-end: writing user stories, working with user experience to create prototypes, engaging with beta testers, working with development, documentation, and quality assurance teams to deliver a marketable product on time
  • Monitor the development status of product requirements throughout the product lifecycle process and raise risks and mitigations to leadership to ensure timely product delivery
  • Work with cross-functional teams including Professional Services, Marketing and Sales to provide information about upcoming releases and ensure coordinated product launch plans are in place
  • Represent Naviance as a domain and product expert at customer interactions and industry events
  • Analyze potential partnerships to enhance the product line
  • Monitor and participate in customer idea forums
  • Understand competitive landscape and industry trends
  • Serve as a trusted internal product expert for sales, marketing and client services
  • Participate in professional organizations to gain industry knowledge regarding trends or other factors impacting the product line and to make sure the company’s corporate interests are represented

 

Minimum Qualifications

An appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.  An example of an acceptable qualification for this position is:

  • At least three years experience in software product management
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • PMP Certification preferred


Ability to document identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of original appointment as a condition of employment in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act requirements.
