Director of Business Dev. and Strategic Partnerships (Arlington, VA or Cincinnati, OH)
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Strategize on new points of entry within the HE market segment
- Work in conjunction with DMGI to manage acquisition due diligence
- Work with HE management team on business integrations post acquisition
- Identify and create business cases for new product & services outside core scope
- Research competing products and industry trends; keep abreast of new technologies and services
- Work with appropriate product manager to create framework, prototypes, and offering roadmaps
- Manage contracting and negotiations with new partners
- Act as liaison to government relations efforts
- Develop relationships with key professionals in the admissions and enrollment industry
- Serve as internal expert on solutions and higher education market
- Document relationships across product lines, analyze contracts, begin to support and/or manage existing strategic alliances.
- Communicate new partnership information or updated information on existing partnerships to various internal stakeholder
- Manage inbound partnership requests in a consistent professional process
- Leverage internal teams to help evaluate and make decision on partnership ventures
- Coordinate partner efforts at the company's annual users group meeting, including the promotion of and securing sponsorship monies
- Deliver effective presentations to internal and external audiences
- Model and uphold company core values
Key Shared Accountabilities
- Align with executive strategy group on which market sub segments geographies to focus on
- With Hobsons M&A, identify and create business cases for acquisition/partnership candidates
- Work with K-12 solutions segment on intersections/cross product/sales opportunities across student lifecycle
- Work with Finance to ensure appropriate terms on partnerships and acquisition targets
- With legal, ensure that all partner contracts meet corporate and DMGI/DMGT standards
- With marketing, ensure that partnerships result in maximum market benefit
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. or B.A. degree in Business Administration, Management, Project Management, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
- Higher Education Market Understanding
- Ability to evaluate/manage partnership agreements
- Product development lifecycle experience
- Five years of experience in a technology environment
- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills. Ability to collaborate well and negotiate professionally with internal stakeholders.
- Proficient with MS Project or similar software, MS Office applications, Jira and GoogleDocs.
Preferred or Desired Qualifications
- Experience with partner management
- Knowledge of Hobsons organization structure and stakeholders
- MBA or other masters in related field
- Change Management Experience
- CRM/ Application Management Solution Expertise
